Amanda is a top all-around athlete from Chatham-Kent, enshrined in four halls of fame. At Chatham-Kent Secondary School (2001-2005), she led her teams to eight OFSAA tournaments, winning gold in basketball and bronze in soccer. She was the 2005 Dr. Jack Parry Award recipient for top female student-athlete.
Career Highlights
Amanda is one of the best all-around athletes to ever come out of Chatham-Kent, winning a number of
individual and team honours in multiple sports and enshrined in four halls of fame.
In her four years at Chatham-Kent Secondary School from 2001-02 to 2004-05, Amanda's teams qualified
for eight OFSAA tournaments – twice in basketball, track and soccer, once in volleyball and cross country
– winning gold in basketball and bronze in soccer.
She capped her CKSS career as the 2005 Dr. Jack Parry Award recipient as the top female student-athlete
in Chatham-Kent.
Basketball was Amanda's forte, playing on Canada’s national junior women’s team in 2004 before her
Grade 12 year.
She was heavily recruited by American and Canadian universities and chose Western University where
she had an amazing career with the Mustangs, starting every game from 2005-10.
Amanda was named: Canadian University Rookie of the Year in 2005-06; First Team All-Canadian in
2009-10 and Second Team in 2006-07; First-Team OUA West Division All-Star four times and Second
Team once; OUA West Division Player of the Year in 2009-10; Ended her career as the second all-time
leading scorer in the OUA.
Amanda was Western's all-time scoring leader and in her final year was the co-winner of the F.W.P. Jones
award as the female athlete who made the greatest contribution to intercollegiate athletes at Western over
her career.
Amanda played one year of professional basketball in Bielefeld, Germany, the second female athlete from
Chatham to play professional basketball in Europe at the time.
Amanda was also an outstanding hockey player, as she played in Dresden on boys' teams from 1994-
2000, including '99-00 when she also played on the Chatham Outlaws' girls’ team.
Amanda's Outlaw teams won three Silver Stick titles during the 2000-01 and '01-02 seasons and won the
PWHA 'AA' provincial championship in 2002.
In the calendar year of 2002 Amanda played on four provincial championship winning teams - Chatham
Bantam Outlaws, CKSS senior girls’ basketball, Chatham-Kent Ballhawks volleyball and Chatham
Cobras boys ball hockey.
Amanda was inducted into the Chatham Sports Hall of Fame with the Bantam Outlaws, the Dresden
Sports Hall of Fame athlete category, both in 2019, and the Western Mustangs Sports Hall of Fame in
2021.
