The CCI Cougars football team, established in the early 1940s, achieved an extraordinary season in 1962, going undefeated and allowing no points scored against them—an unprecedented feat in Chatham-Kent high school history. They outscored opponents 196 to 0 and featured standout athletes like Mel Wakabayashi and Ed Myers.

Winning four consecutive championships from 1960 to 1963, the Cougars drew large crowds to their games. The Chatham Sports Hall of Fame proudly inducts the CCI Cougars Football team of 1962-1963.
